Tyre Fitting
Have new tyres fitted to your wheels at the Vex Tyres workshop.
Fitting means taking the wheel off, removing the old tyre, checking the rim, mounting the new tyre and inflating it to the pressure recommended for your vehicle.
Fitting is usually paired with wheel balancing so the new tyre and wheel spin true at speed. Mention balancing and alignment when you book and we can look at the whole job together.
What it involves
- Wheels removed and refitted to the vehicle
- Old tyres removed and the rim checked
- New tyres mounted and seated on the rim
- Inflated to the pressure on your vehicle’s tyre placard
Signs you might need it
- Tread worn to the wear indicators — the legal minimum in Victoria is 1.5 mm
- Cracks, bulges or cuts in the sidewall
- Tyres that are several years old (the four-digit date code on the sidewall shows when they were made)
- A tyre that keeps losing pressure
Common questions
Balancing is normally recommended with new tyres because even a small imbalance can cause vibration and uneven wear. Ask us when you book.
The size is printed on the tyre sidewall (for example 205/55 R16) and on the tyre placard, usually on the driver’s door jamb. You can also use the tyre finder on this site or call us.
